Get Your Fun on at The Royal Gorge

Royal Rush Skycoaster

Wheeee! There’s more than one way to experience the beauty of the Royal Gorge. A mini amusement park inside the park boasts 365 acres and provides something for all ages and abilities. The amusement park offers multiple methods to appreciate all Mother Nature has created. For prices and more information visit royalgorgebridge.com.

Here’s a peak at what’s there:

Royal Gorge Bridge

The highest suspension bridge in North America is the starting place for most visitors to the Royal Gorge. An engineering marvel, the bridge opens at 8 a.m. and visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk across the gorge, stopping to take photos or just to admire views in all directions.

Royal Rush Skycoaster

If adrenaline is the name of your game, the Skycoaster is sure to please. Squeeeeeeals and screeeeeams are sure to escape your lips as you swing out over the gorge at 50 mph before coming to a momentary stop high above the Arkansas River. Then it’s a free fall arc back toward the top of the gorge and another swing out over the gorge.

Cloudscraper Zipline

The highest zipline in North America is probably just one reason why the “Travel Channel” ranks this zipline as a “bucket-list” must-do adventure in Colorado. To access, riders take the aerial gondola one direction and then zipline back across the gorge, getting a two-for-one adventure.

Aerial Gondola

Photo ops abound from your high-in-the-sky seat on this bright red aerial gondola. Gondola rides are included in the price of general admission and, best of all, are dog friendly, so Fido can catch the views, too.

Tommy Knocker Playland

Reminiscent of the popular kids board game “Chutes and Ladders,” the playland has everything kids need to be entertained and for parents to catch a break. Ladders, ropes, slides and even an old fashioned carousel are sure to delight. On a warm summer day, all can enjoy a cool-off courtesy of the splash pad.

Plaza Theater

History buffs will enjoy a quick fact-filled documentary of the amazing history of the park. During the summertime months, visitors will delight in the live Nature’s Educators Birds of Prey show with an opportunity to see Juno, an American eagle ambassador.
