Sensory Friendly Mornings are a great experience for children and families to play with hands-on exhibits and enjoy family time in a safe, accessible and welcoming environment. This experience includes a sensory-modified setting, limited attendance, and sound and lighting adjustments. There is also a social story to help prepare families for their museum experience. The Buell Children’s Museum will lower loud gallery sounds and roll out ‘sensory bins’ with sensory-friendly activities. Staff members will be on hand throughout the site to answer questions. On your first visit, grab a sensory map to see the space’s active and quiet spots and check out the sensory break room. Guest will have access to “sensory bins,” er defenders, weighted blankets, sunglasses and quiet zone areas. Limited to 25 guests; advance registration required.
November 11 and December 9, 10 am-12 pm. At the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, 210 N. Santa Fe Ave., Pueblo.
