There’s a whole lot going on at the Bear Creek Nature Center, so come join the community for some summer fun! Programs include:

Nature Explorers: Go, Go, Gopher
July 7, 9-10:30 am and 1-2:30 pm. July 8, 9-10:30 am and 1-2:30 pm.
Discover the world of nature with your 4 or 5 year old. Outdoor exploration and theme-related activities. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Little Wonders: Gone Fishin’
July 21, 9-10:15 am and 1-2:15 pm. July 22, 9-10:15 am and 1-2:15 pm.
Discover the world of nature with your 2 or 3 year old. Outdoor exploration and theme-related activities. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Forest Bathing Walk with Summer Lajoie from Listening Pines
July 10 and 11, 1-3:30 pm.
Practice mindfulness in nature with certified Forest Therapy Guide Summer Lajoie from Listening Pines on a gentle walk through the woods and a beautiful tea ceremony. $30 per non-member/$20 per member. Prepaid registration required.

Kid’s Morning Out: Dinos!
July 10, 10 am-2 pm.
Grown-ups, drop off your child (ages 6-11) for a day of fun activities exploring the world of dinosaurs and their modern feathered cousins. Lunch is included. $15 per member / $20 per non-member. Prepaid registration required.

Preschool Creek Adventure
July 24, 10-11:30 am.
Children ages 2 to 5 with a grown up are invited for a morning of water, fun, and exploration in Bear Creek! Come prepared to get wet! $3 per person. Prepaid registration required.

Home Food Preservation Series: Intro to Water Bath Canning
Preserve the season’s bounty! Home canning requires knowledge of food preservation. In these introductory classes, participants will learn about botulism risks, overview of proper techniques, and review the proper tools for canning. Receive a booklet with tested recipes and take home a jar of your own canned product (except pressure canning class). Prepaid registration required. $10 per person or $20 for all 3 classes in series:
Pickling: July 31 at Fountain Creek Nature Center 10 am-12 pm.
Pressure Canning: August 14 at CSU Extension 10 am-12 pm.

Night Sky/Milky Way Photography Workshop at Paint Mines Interpretive Park
July 14-15, 9 pm-7 am.
This guided overnight photography workshop led by Mike Pach of 3 Peaks Photography & Design will include how to photograph the Milky Way and the stars as points of light, how to photograph star trails, light painting techniques and how to post-process your images in Photoshop and Lightroom. $250 per person. Limit 6 participants.
