The Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering celebrates it’s 29th anniversary and with it carries on a quarter century of cowboy heritage, traditions and entertainment. During the Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering, cowboy poets, western singers and old fashioned yodelers bring to life the joys and hardships of the Old West. First timers and old hands will be entertained and inspired by cowboy and cowgirl poets and musicians. Their poems, songs and witticisms about how life was and still is on farms, ranches and the range, bridge the past with the present. Also added to the event are family programs. Daytime themed sessions and the Sunday matinee are a perfect events for the entire family – hear songs and stories of ranchers, cattle drives, life in the Outback of Australia and the love of the land. These theme sessions include Women of the West, Today’s Cowboy, Multi-cultural Roots, Cowboy and Western Humor, Cowboy Classics and many more.

January 18-21. At the American Mountaineering Center, 710 10th Street, Golden.
