Colorado Team Lighting Up Guatemala

A crew of 23 lineworkers from Colorado and Oklahoma left for Central America August 24 to spend almost three weeks wiring the primitive village of Sillab in northeastern Guatemala for electricity. Crews have been working in the heat, humidity and rain to string the power line and ready individual homes, schools and community buildings for electricity. The village, including the giggling boys pictured here, is set to celebrate their work Tuesday, September 10 with a “lights on” ceremony.
