A Museum Worth the Stop

Visit the Overland Trail Museum just off Interstate 76 in Sterling for a nostalgic trip through the history of Colorado’s eastern plains and the Overland branch of the Oregon Trail. Recommended by CCL Publisher/Editor Mona Neeley, the museum houses a varied collection of historic items in its main buildings, including an extensive look back at rural electrification, and features a “village” that allows visitors to experience a one-room schoolhouse, a country church, a general store, a granary barn and a machine shed.
